“You can take no credit for beauty at sixteen. But if you are beautiful at sixty, it will be your soul’s own doing.”
Marie Carmichael Stopes (15 October 1880 – 2 October 1958)
Some time ago I mentioned that a single red rose was though to be the most beautiful and romantic. During ancient Roman times, lovers gave each other red roses. In those days, roses were symbolic of the Roman goddess Venus. Through time, red roses have been a continuous source of inspiration for artists everywhere. Countless poems have been written, inspired by roses and by the single red rose. It has been said that a single red rose speaks volumes, so sending a card such as this, certainly tells the recipient, “I care”.
